CTR2

Compact tiltrotator for 1 – 2 tonne excavators

  • Cylinder-free design – no pistons on the sides of the dipper arm
  • Only 253 mm wide – the slimmest in the Compacttilt range
  • Lightweight – only 65 kg incl. mounting and valve block
  • 2×50° tilt
  • Infinite rotation
  • Prepared for machine control with rotation sensor
  • Prepared for central lubrication
  • CT-Lock as integrated standard, approved according to EU standard 474-5
  • 1 extra hydraulic outlet for connecting hydraulic attachments as standard

The Compacttilt Rotator™ CTR2 is designed to give the smallest excavators — in the class up to 2 tonnes — significantly more flexibility without compromising lifting capacity. At only 253 mm wide and with an own weight from 65 kg, the CTR2 is the most compact tiltrotator in the Compacttilt range and one of the slimmest on the market for this machine class.

  • Cylinder-free construction – no hydraulic cylinders on the sides of the dipper arm, giving free passage in narrow trenches and close to edges where a traditional tiltrotator cannot reach.
  • Machine control with rotation sensor – the CTR2 is prepared for machine control. With the rotation sensor as an option, the tiltrotator’s rotation is continuously registered and sent to the machine control system — so you always know exactly where the attachment is pointing, even when rotated. This enables precise grading on 2 slopes and around the machine with a 2D system.
  • HS2 control system – the CTR2 can be supplied with HS2, featuring L8 joysticks and a touchscreen mounted in the cab, with options for track steering, side shift and dozer blade control.
  • Central lubrication – the CTR2 can be delivered prepared for central lubrication, automating greasing of all lubrication points.
  • Low own weight – from 65 kg incl. mounting and valve block, so even a small machine retains its lifting capacity.
  • Quick coupler – supplied with S30 coupler (S30-150, S30-180 or MH30), integrated into the machine’s hydraulic quick coupler system.

The CTR2 is built with a narrow profile, making the machine ideal for digging in tight trenches, in areas difficult to access, and close to cables, pipes and foundations where space is minimal. This is precisely why the CTR2 is built without cylinders on the sides.

With the CTR2, the machine gains full 360-degree rotation in the attachment and a tilt function of 2×50 degrees — 100 degrees in total. This means even the smallest excavators can carry out precise grading, slope work and earthmoving in complex environments.

Add CT-OIL™

The CTR2 can be supplied with CT-Oil, enabling the operator to switch hydraulic attachments directly from the machine’s existing joystick. It eliminates manual connection and disconnection of oil couplings, as the switch happens through the machine’s existing quick coupler function. CT-Oil works with all types of control systems, including HS4.

CT-LOCK™ is included

The CTR2 comes with CT-Lock, a double-locking mechanism on the bucket coupler. It is a mechanical two-factor safety system in compliance with the applicable Machinery Directive and EU standard 474-5.

Why choose the CTR2?

Maximum digging power

At only 65 kg, even the smallest machine loses minimal lifting capacity and stability.

Tight spaces

253 mm width and cylinder-free design make the CTR2 ideal for the narrowest trenches and confined areas.

Better visibility

No hydraulic cylinders blocking the view from the cab to the attachment and the work area.

Low maintenance

Cylinder-free design and optional central lubrication minimise downtime and maintenance costs.

Traditional tiltrotator vs CTR2

VS
With cylinders
Traditional tiltrotator with cylinders

Cylinders on the sides limit the reach and make it difficult to dig in narrow areas — especially on the smallest machines where every millimetre of clearance counts.

CTR2 – without cylinders
CTR2 tiltrotator without cylinders

The cylinder-free design provides maximum freedom of movement and full reach — even on the smallest excavators in the class up to 2 tonnes.

What our customers say

Ole from Sandholdt ApS talks about the CTR2
“

I purchased a Case 19D with CTR2 and central lubrication. I chose Compacttilt because I could get it with a rotation sensor, which means that with a 2D system I can grade on 2 slopes and around the machine. I have now operated it for 250 hours and I must say it is a pleasure to work with.

Frequently asked questions

Does the CTR2 fit my machine? +
The CTR2 is developed for excavators in the class up to 2 tonnes and is supplied with an S30 quick coupler – available in variants S30-150, S30-180 and MH30. Unsure about the right configuration? Contact a Compacttilt dealer for advice tailored to your machine.

The CTR2 – like all Compacttilt products – is manufactured to the machine’s mounting data for a fixed-mount integration. The configuration that matches the machine’s hydraulic setup is then selected.
How much does the CTR2 weigh, and does it affect the machine’s lifting capacity? +
The CTR2 weighs from 65 kg including mounting and valve block – the lowest in the Compacttilt range and low even within the class up to 2 tonnes. The low own weight helps retain the machine’s lifting capacity. Be aware that the tiltrotator’s weight and the increased reach always affect the machine’s tip load limits – check the lift charts in the machine’s manual, and reduce bucket volume if necessary.
Is the HS2 necessary? +
HS2 is a proportional control system supplied with L8 joysticks and an intuitive touchscreen. With HS2, the hydraulics respond proportionally to joystick movements, enabling the operator to control both speed and force with high precision.

The touchscreen also allows individual user profiles to be set up and settings to be customised, including speeds and functions for the tiltrotator.

The CTR2 can be fully integrated with the machine’s existing joystick and works without HS2. The system is an option – not a requirement – for those who want maximum functionality and the best possible user experience.
Can the CTR2 be used with 2D and 3D machine control from e.g. Leica, Topcon and Trimble? +
Yes. The CTR2 is prepared for machine control and can be combined with 2D and 3D machine control systems from Leica, Topcon, Trimble and others. With the rotation sensor as an option, the tiltrotator’s rotation is continuously registered and sent to the machine control system – so you always know exactly where the attachment is, even when fully rotated. This enables precise grading on 2 slopes and around the machine with a 2D system. Contact your dealer for the right integration on your machine.
What is the difference between the CTR2 and the CT2? +
The CTR2 is a tiltrotator: it both tilts 2×50° and rotates infinitely. The CT2 is a tilt for the same weight class – it tilts but does not rotate. Choose the CTR2 if you work with grading, slopes and placement of pipes and cables, where the attachment’s angle relative to the machine needs to change. Choose the CT2 if you primarily need the tilt function.
Can the CTR2 be supplied with central lubrication? +
Yes. The CTR2 can be delivered prepared for central lubrication, which automates greasing of the tiltrotator’s lubrication points. This reduces daily maintenance time and ensures consistent lubrication during operation. Contact your Compacttilt dealer to include central lubrication in your configuration.
How do I maintain the CTR2? +
The CTR2 is engineered without vulnerable hydraulic cylinders, reducing the risk of impact damage during operation. For optimal performance and long service life, daily greasing and regular visual inspection are recommended. When supplied with central lubrication, greasing is handled automatically. If play exceeds 2 degrees, contact your dealer for service. We recommend inspection at 500 operating hours or 12 months.

See the complete user manual for the full maintenance schedule, or find the key maintenance points quickly in our Quick Guide.
In which country is Compacttilt produced? +
Compacttilt is a Danish product, developed and produced 100% in Denmark. The product range is built around a unique, patented motor technology that clearly distinguishes it from traditional tilt and tiltrotator systems – in both construction and design. The system is specially developed for excavators in the 1 to 10 tonne class.
